Scott Cory joins BOREAL USA rock climbers team

Scott Cory started climbing when he was seven, and immediately became hooked. At seventeen, he’s living the dream, traveling the world to climb and explore. Perhaps what he is best known for are his two record-breaking climbs: The Nose and Half Dome. In 2001 and 2003, respectively, he made history by being the youngest person ever to summit each in under a day.

The Nose was especially important, as he climbed it in front of a crowd of people in October, right after September 11th, to raise money for the victims and families of that tragic day. He’s also proud to claim that he’s climbed “Welcome to the Slabs of Koricancha” (VI 13a, 650m, 13 pitches) at 17,470 feet – the hardest route in Peru.

These days Scott’s climbing outside as much as possible, and he continues to work for charities and holds auctions every now and then to raise money and donate gear for a good cause.

“Surf Safari” (5.13d/5.14a) , “Spray-a-thon” (5.13c)
