HEMSEDAL - A CLASSIC
Hemsedal is a long time classic area for ice climbing in Norway. Here
you find famous routes like Hydnefossen and Grøtenuten. About 1 hour drive
from Hemsedal is Lærdal, one of the best ice climbing areas in the world,
with tons of new stuff still to be done. Hemsedal is one of the best skiing
areas in the country, famous for its night life and party pulse during
high season. In addition to ice and party there are also possibilities
for fishing, paragliding, hunting and even via ferrata in Hemsedal.
FirstScandinavian WC final
This
is the first Scandinavian ice world cup final in the history, and
the first time an official climbing world cup competition is arranged
in Norway. Around 60-80 competitors are expected for the final round
in the UIAA Ice World Cup, from 15 different countries. These are
the very best climbing athletes in the world. Rules and regulations
around ice climbing competitions are decided by the international
climbing federation UIAA.
